Em um teste com mais de 11 mil mol\u00e9culas, cientistas do Instituto de Ci\u00eancias Biom\u00e9dicas da Universidade de S\u00e3o Paulo (ICB-USP) identificaram sete que t\u00eam potencial para atuar contra a Covid-19. As mol\u00e9culas selecionadas demonstraram alto n\u00edvel de afinidade com a chamada 3-chemotrypsin-like protease (3CLpro) do Sars-CoV-2, enzima essencial para sua replica\u00e7\u00e3o no organismo.<\/p>\n

Publicada no in\u00edcio de agosto no Journal of Biomolecular Structure and Dynamics, a pesquisa utilizou a t\u00e9cnica de reposicionamento de f\u00e1rmacos e aprendizado de m\u00e1quina. “Essas predi\u00e7\u00f5es computacionais que fizemos elegeram sete mol\u00e9culas que podem ser promissoras em testes em c\u00e9lulas. Se funcionarem in vitro, podemos v\u00ea-las sendo testadas em humanos\u201d, explica a coordenadora do estudo Cristiane Guzzo em comunicado enviado \u00e0 imprensa.<\/p>\n

Todas as mol\u00e9culas testadas comp\u00f5em f\u00e1rmacos j\u00e1 aprovados pela ag\u00eancia reguladora Food and Drug Administration (FDA<\/a>), dos Estados Unidos. \u201cA vantagem de testar rem\u00e9dios que j\u00e1 existem no mercado \u00e9 que os efeitos de toxicidade e efeitos colaterais j\u00e1 s\u00e3o amplamente conhecidos\u201d, comenta Guzzo. Na sequ\u00eancia do estudo, se a a\u00e7\u00e3o dos f\u00e1rmacos for confirmada em outros experimentos bioqu\u00edmicos e in vitro, eles j\u00e1 poder\u00e3o ser testados em pacientes com Covid-19.<\/p>\n
